Nanny Montana: Finding Light Through Music
Music, to me, is more than sound. It is a way of expressing what words sometimes cannot explain. It is a place where thoughts, emotions, struggles, dreams, and memories can exist freely.
I am Nanny Montana, an independent artist from Angola, driven by a passion for Hip-Hop, storytelling, and authentic expression. My journey as an artist is deeply connected to my experiences and to the desire to create music that people can feel, understand, and carry with them.
My music is influenced by Hip-Hop, Boom Bap, R&B, and different sounds that allow me to explore emotions and tell stories. I believe that an artist should not be limited to one sound or one identity. I want to evolve, experiment, and continue discovering new ways to express myself while remaining true to who I am.
My first EP, Thoughts of My Soul, represents a personal chapter of my artistic journey. The project explores different emotions, reflections, relationships, faith, memories, and the realities of life. Through this project, I wanted to show a part of myself that is not always visible and create a connection with anyone who has ever felt lost, hopeful, distant, or simply human.
Now, I am working toward a new chapter called LUZES. This project is built around the contrast between peace and chaos — the darkness we sometimes experience and the light we continue searching for. With LUZES, I want to explore storytelling even further, experiment with different sounds, and create a more complete artistic experience.
My ambition is not only to release music. I want to build an artistic identity that goes beyond songs. I want to create visual concepts, performance sessions, music videos, and stories that give people a reason to connect with my work.
Coming from Angola, I believe there are many stories, voices, and perspectives that deserve to be heard internationally. My goal is to take my music beyond borders while representing where I come from and showing that independent artists can build meaningful careers through consistency, creativity, and authenticity.
I am still growing. I am still learning. I am still discovering the artist I want to become.
But I know one thing: I want my music to leave something behind.
A feeling. A thought. A memory. A light.
And perhaps, somewhere along the way, someone will listen to one of my songs and realize they are not alone.
