Every year on August 28, the UAE celebrates Emirati Women’s Day, an occasion dedicated to recognizing the achievements, contributions and aspirations of Emirati women.
Emirati Women’s Day was launched in 2015 by Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, “Mother of the Nation.” The date also commemorates the establishment of the General Women’s Union on August 28, 1975, under her leadership. In 2026, we celebrate the 12th Emirati Women’s Day.
As an Emirati woman and artist, I see this day as a celebration of women who have the courage to follow their dreams and create their own paths. My artistic journey began later in life, and it taught me that passion has no age and that it is never too late to begin.
Through my art, I strive to celebrate our Emirati heritage, landscapes, traditions and memories. I believe art is not only a form of expression; it is also a way of preserving our identity and sharing the story of our culture with the world.
I am grateful to live in a country that has given Emirati women the encouragement and opportunities to discover their talents, pursue their ambitions and contribute to the UAE’s cultural and creative landscape.
On Emirati Women’s Day 2026, I celebrate every Emirati woman who inspires through her strength, creativity and determination. Our journeys may be different, but together we are part of the continuing story of our nation.
